The ultimate gig, re-branding a country.

That is exactly what the firm, Guillermo Brea y Assciados was hired to do. Argentina was looking to re-brand its image as a forward thinking, modern country. One that has rebounded from the financial disasters of the late ’90s. It appears they are on the right track with this new branding…it is clean, appealing and conveys the signal of change the country is currently going through. Quite a score for the design firm, talk about exposure!

With the DAP (digital audio player) market flooded by new offerings on a seemingly daily basis, how do the other guys compete with the behemoth that is Apple? Maybe a lil Monsta could pose a threat? At least, when it comes to marketing, SanDisk is doing what most others are not. Utilizing a character personality to help drive awareness of the brand may not scare the iPod maker, but other manufacturers should take heed.

Why is a logo important? Can I make it myself?

Creating your company logo is one of the most important and most difficult processes you will have to go through when starting a new company. Your logo should communicate the very essence of your company’s image in a single glance… a daunting prospect I’m sure you’d agree.

Simply typing the company name in a standard font and underlining it is not the way to get your company noticed. Unless you are an experienced graphic designer it is well worth the investment of asking a professional graphic design company to create a logo for you.

The Italians have a knack for melding transportation and design into works of art. Take Ferrari, Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Ducati and of course, the original scooter - Vespa. A brand that was in decline for decades is having a renaissance. With new leadership, production methods and marketing strategies, its parent company Piaggio is reporting rising sales and is increasing its distribution in the U.S. market. All without compromising the existing brand or succumbing to market trends. And the company has something else going for them: the high cost of gasoline. With a typical Vespa averaging about 70 mpg, many ‘around town’ commuters may be saying ciao to their guzzling 4-wheel machines.
