It makes a lovely change to find such valuable artistic commentary online and I have printed your page to even better study your view points in greater detail ( with some jazz and a bottle of something dry ). For my part (for what it's worth): 1. I would always choose to keep a distance between abstract artist and viewer ... we always disappoint. 2. I also feel that we often mix meaning of the word 'Representational'. I think that any expression, no matter how automatic is some way representational. 3. I love the discussion on geometry also. It reminds me of my maths teacher, who used to say "If you can't see the pattern ... stand further back" Thanks for an excellent read.
